Wine No 6 from Orbit Collection

Château de Vaux - Vignobles Molozay

Septentrion 2022

AOC Moselle

We do not mean any disrespect, but this is not a German Moselle Riesling that the word "Moselle" usually evokes in the US. First of all, it is from the French bank of Moselle, where people make drier wines. And then, it is not a Riesling but a delightfully surprising blend of Auxerrois, Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Gris. The result is to put it simply "Très bon". They even agree on the other side of the border. You will scratch your head, wondering of which other wine you loved it reminds you.

Norbert Molozay

Before focusing exclusively on Château de Vaux, Norbert Molozay used to be a "flying winemaker", applying his skills and experience from one vineyard to another in New Zealand, Australia, the US, but also closer to home in Burgundy, Beaujolais, Alsace and Languedoc. Needless to say, he acquired an unperalleled experience. Norbert's wife, Marie-Geneviève, first studied sciences but was quickly drawn to œnologie. After all, it was an unsurmontable challenge for her to be the first family member in 5 generations of wine merchants from Metz to move away from wines.

En 1999, Norbert and Marie-Geneviève took over at Château de Vaux with the firm convition that the unique combination of terroirs, exposure and grape verieties could yield exceptional results. They were proven right a few years later and now Château de Vaux is unquestionably the premier wine producer in French Moselle, recognized throughout France.
